Birth Certificates: All NEW players must submit a picture of their birth certificate to the League. Players will not be allowed to participate in practices and/or games until a copy of the birth certificate is received.
Medical Waivers: ALL players must have a signed medical waiver for their coach on the first day of practice. Print this at the end of the registration form and hold onto it until then. Players will not be allowed on the field until this is received.
Season Dates:
March 23rd: AAA and Majors evaluations (12-4pm) D-Bat in Bloomfield. (Your child’s timeslot will be announced at a later date).
March 26th: AAA and Majors baseball draft
On or about March 27th: Baseball teams announced
March 30th: Manager Meeting (8am), field clean up (10am) & pre-season practices can begin (dependent upon town opening fields and coaches discretion)
*Softball Coaches Clinic at 10am following manager meeting
Week of April 15th: Regular season games and practices begin
April 20th: Opening Day Ceremonies
June 8th: Championship Games, end of season (tentative)
Baseball Evaluation Information:
AAA and Majors evaluations will be held at D-Bat. (62 Douglas St, Bloomfield, CT 06002)
Age 9 (Born Sept.2014 - Aug.2015)
- 9 yr olds who are new to SLL should attend AAA evaluations regardless of division preference.
- Returning 9 yr olds who wish to play AA should not attend evaluations.
- 9 yr olds with AA experience are eligible to be drafted in AAA. To be eligible to play in AAA, a 9-year-old must attend AAA evaluations (except under extraordinary circumstances, which are subject to player agent approval).
Age 10 (Born Sept.2013 - Aug.2014)
- 10 yr olds who are new to SLL should attend evaluations for the division they wish to play (AAA or Majors).
- Returning 10 yr olds who wish to play AAA should not attend evaluations.
- 10 yr olds with AAA experience are eligible to be drafted into Majors. To be eligible to play in Majors, a 10-year-old must attend Majors evaluations (except under extraordinary circumstances, which are subject to player agent approval).
Age 11: (Born Sept.2012 - Aug.2013)
- 11 yr olds who are new to SLL should attend evaluations for the division they wish to play (AAA or Majors).
- Returning 11 yr olds who wish to play AAA not attend evaluations.
- 11-year-olds who wish to play Majors should attend Majors evaluations (except under extraordinary circumstances, which are subject to player agent approval). 11 yr olds who do not attend Majors evaluations will be placed in AAA.
Age 12: (Born Sept. 2011 thru Aug. 2012)
- 12 yr olds who are new to SLL should attend Majors evaluations.
- Returning 12 yr olds should not attend evaluations.
Refund and Re-Registration Policy:
No refunds will be issued once teams have been formed. Exceptions to this policy may be requested of the Vice President in special circumstances such as medical injury. Choosing not to play, or moving to another program does not qualify for a refund.
Similarly, SLL attempts to balance teams by number of players and by skill level as best we can to maximize playing time and player/team experience. Therefore, requests to change a division placement cannot be accommodated after teams are formed.
