Summer Baseball and Softball All-Star Registration

Simsbury Little League All-Stars
Simsbury Little League will be forming District 6 (D6) All-Star teams at the U10, U11, U12 and U14 (Softball Only) level based on interest. To be considered for a D6 teams, players are required to register online indicating that they are interested and that they meet the eligibility requirements (See eligibility requirements below).
No payment is required for this initial registration. Once selected to a team, the cost per player will be $125
Being selected to one of the D6 All-Star teams is a great honor that requires significant player and parent commitment. Below is information regarding the criteria for being a D6 All-Star player and the selection process that Simsbury Little League follows to put together the All-Star teams.
Eligibility:
The player needs to be age appropriate for the team she/he is chosen to participate on. The player must have played 60% of his team’s regular season games.
Availability:
The players selected are expected to participate in all practices and games of the D6 tournament. There will be 5-7 practices per week starting in June with tournament schedules starting as early as June 22nd. You can expect tournament dates to last through the second week of July and possibly into August if a team is successful in advancing. It is expected that players will be available during the All-Star practices & tournament times so please consider this commitment seriously, as it is a family decision. Any conflicts need to be listed as part of the registration process Failure to list scheduling conflicts may result in a player’s suspension or removal from the roster.
Register Online:
Registering online does not mean your player will automatically make the D6 team. It only means that your player is eligible, and you want your child to be considered. The D6 teams are only for players age 9 and above and players must have played during our spring season.
Managers/Coaches:
Any parent interested in managing a D6 team must also register.
D6 Team Criteria:
Players shall not register for a specific team. Players shall only register to be considered for a District All-Star team roster.
D6 Team Selection Process:
Simsbury Little League uses a selection process that combines player and manager voting. Each player and each manager in Juniors, Majors and AAA will vote for players within his/her league to be selected to a District All-Star team. Player and Manager voting will result in “automatic selections,” and the balance of the team will be selected through a collaborative process involving Board Members and Division Managers.
Playing Time Expectations:
It is an honor to be selected to an All-Star team. This truly means that your child is recognized as the best of the best – by coaches and peers. Having said that, the All-Star teams will prioritize team success and advancement. The District Managers will be bound only by applicable Little League International minimum playing time rules and are afforded full discretion in terms of playing time. Please note that, for 2023, Little League International no longer has minimum defensive playing time requirements; however, all players must bat.
This may be challenging for you or your child to reconcile – considering they are at the top of their age group – and they were probably one of, if not the best player on their team during the regular season. Only you know how you or your child will react to this situation. Please only register for All-Star consideration if you fully understand and accept this potential scenario.
Farmington Tournament Teams
Registration will open for the Farmington Tournament teams soon. Farmington Tournament teams are open to all SLL baseball players league age 9-12.
8-and-under Summer Travel Team
We will also be accepting registrations for interest in an 8-and-under Summer Travel Team for 7 and 8 year olds (date of birth 5/1/2014 or later). The commitment required of this team will approach that of the District All-Star teams and this program is designed for further development of a more-advanced player. Practices will be more frequent and advanced than those in the Farm A or AA Divisions and travel within the State will be required through mid-July. More details will be made available at the close of registration, which will be Sunday, May 21 at 6pm.
