Saturday, March 14, 2026
Check-in starting at 10:30
Event 11:00 - 4:00
Courtside Sports Center
517 Burlington Rd
Harwinton, CT 06791
Note: It is costing the league $15 per umpire to attend this training; if you register, make all efforts to be there. It is run by long-tenured umpires in Little League.
If you are unable to attend this training due to other conflicts - there will be a local session held in March/April timeframe - you will need to attend that session to umpire in 2026.
All umpires, veteran and new, will have to attend at least one training session with our Umpire in Chief, Brian George. They will be in late March and possibly early April. After the training, you will have to take an online quiz.
Shirts:
Important Notes:
1. Buy a shirt one size larger than what you normally wear. This is so the chest protector (if you are base umpire) can fit underneath your shirt.
2. There is an upfront fee to buy the shirt. However, after the third game you umpire this season, the shirt cost will be included in your umpire payments. You do not need to save or submit receipts.
Umpires 16 and over in 2026 require background check and additional training:
If you will turn 16 before the season is over, you need to submit a background check and complete the Abuse Awareness training.
Example: You are 15 currently but will turn 16 on June 5, 2026 - you will need to pass the background check and pass the additional training to umpire past June 4, 2026.
